Waynesville Police Department Presents Recognition of Valor

Last week, during the Town of Waynesville Board Meeting, the Chief Adams recognized the heroic act of valor demonstrated by Det. Shell this past May.
On May 24th, 2022, Detective Shell, responded to Lake Junaluska after hearing a medical call dispatched to that area for a man that was drowning in the lake. Det. Shell arrived and immediately took action by jumping into the water to assist the man, whose boat had overturned. Det. Shell was able to assist the man, completing his rescue by getting safely back to shore. Because of her quick actions and bravery, this man’s life was saved.
